Coconut Oil Chocolates are a Healthy Holiday Choice!
When this recipe popped up on pinterest, there was no doubt that it was the perfect recipe for this week! Damy Health created and shared these decadent treats featuring coconut oil. In a season that tends to include indulgent food, lots of sugar and butter, and many chances to make unhealthy choices, these chocolates help curb the cravings. Three ingredients comprise these tasty morsels and each ingredient is good for you!
COCONUT OIL CHOCOLATES
Makes 24-30 Chocolates
1 cup Virgin Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/4 cup Natural Maple Syrup
1. Spray a mini muffin tin with a healthy non-stick oil or use festive mini paper liners.
2. Place all above ingredients in the food processor and blend until smooth (stopping a couple times to scrape down the sides).
3. Using a 1 Tbsp measure scoop 1 tbsp of chocolate into each muffin tin cup.
4. Cover with saran wrap and place in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
Storage – I suggest keeping these in an air-tight container in your freezer – they do get soft at room temperature.
You could add a couple drops of mint, orange, vanilla extract or any other of your favorite extracts for a wonderful twist on these chocolates.
